Antonio Campi (Cremona 1524 - 1587)

1560/1565 - Apollo Citharoedus

The god is painted in the lunette to the southeast of the ceiling of one of the ground floor hall of the Palazzo Pallavicini-Barbò. The entire ceiling frescoes dedicated to the "loves of Jupiter" have been heavily "restored" in the eighteenth century.

 
The cithara, which has not a sound box, is armed with 9 strings and hi arms ending with two curly.
