Sepulchral gravestone - 1664/1729

The plaque was built in 1664 for the tomb of Francesco Villani and reused in 1729, marked the overwritten concerning the family of Antonio Stradivari.

  • It was given to the Museum by the Municipality of Cremona, after the demolition of the church of San Domenico (1869), and exhibited in the Hall of musicians and luthiers. After 1953 it was placed on the memorial of the tomb of Stradivari in the publics gardens of Piazza Roma where remained until recent years, when - replaced here with a bronze cast - has returned to the Stradivari Museum.
