Francesco Riccardo Monti (Cremona 1888 - Manila 1958)

1923 - Calix crater

The Roman style vessel, commissioned by the Chamber of Commerce of Cremona, features a high, flattened body, with a convex profile, with classical allegory sculptures of the activities of the Chamber: Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Crafts. Has small loops set in the lower part of convex and fluted shape and the foot is smooth and elongated, double-step. In the handicraft allegory, the artist has put an appeal to the making of stringed instruments and the construction of the Anelli pianos.
