Luigi Miradori called il Genovesino (Genoa, 1605 c. - Cremona, 1656 c.)

1605-1656 - Lute player

The enigmatic painting, while showing a young lute player sitting at a table with an album of music in front, presents other objects that they suggest an allegorical meaning.

Instruments represented:

Baroque lute with 12 choirs (?), with perforated rosette in the dark wood edged soundboard which reproduces the veins of the spruce tree well. The pointed inserts of the black wooden keyboard are also precisely outlined. completed by three circular buttons of lighter wood, the bone nut and the visible part of the bridge.
