1560/77 - Violin "Carlo IX"

The back and the ribs are original. The back is two-piece of maple, with an evident insert on the upper side, where are visible some fragments of the painted decoration of the insigna probably referring to Charles IX of France. On the ribs, there are fragments of the gilt royal motto PIETATE ET IUSTITIA.
