1590/1650 - Violin

Attributed to Gerolamo Amati. The belly is of pine, narrow grain in the center, widening towards the edges. The back is two-piece of maple, with fine slightly marked curl, ascending from the center joint and with two position pins at the upper and lower joints. The ribs are of wood similar to the back. The scroll is of plainer wood. The varnish is golden-brown.
