The belly is two-piece of spruce of medium grain, with a painted decoration in lieu of purflings. The back is two-piece of maple of small curl, descending to the right, painted with a coat of arms in the center and, in the upper bout, the image of St. John the Baptist carrying the mystical lamb. On the ribs are the inscriptions: "Ecce Agnus Dei" and "Giulia Maria Bernardi".
