1671 c. - Violin "Smithsonian"

Soundboard of spruce with large vein, widest in the bass part. Back of two pieces of curly maple with faint broad curl, glued in a herringbone pattern with vertex at the top. Ribs of wood similar to that of the back. Golden-brown varnish.
