1684 - Cello "General Kid - Leo Stern"

Soundboard of spruce at medium-broad grain. Back of two pieces of curly maple cut on the slab and of irregular horizontal medium curl, interspersed with knots formations in the middle bouts. Ribs of wood similar to that of the back. Scroll of curly maple cut on the quarter and of narrow curl. Golden-brown varnish.

  • On 27 April 2004, the instrument was stolen from the house of the chief of the cello section of the orchestra. Three weeks later it was returned.
