1696 - Violin

Soundboard of spruce grain narrow to the center, which widens towards the hips. Back of two pieces of curly maple with a low narrow curl, glued in a herringbone pattern with apex at the top. Ribs and wcroll of wood similar to that of the bottom cut on the slab. Golden-brown varnish.
