1715 - Violin

Soundboard of spruce with narrow grain that extends towards the franks. Back of two pieces of curly maple cut on the quarter and with narrow curl  very marked, glued in a herringbone pattern with vertex at the bottom. Ribs of curly maple to curl a bit larger than that of the back and weaker. Scroll of wood similar to that of the back. Reddish-brown varnish.
