Soundboard of spruce with medium grain.  Back of two pieces of curly maple with moire media, glued to lightweight herringbone with vertex at the top. Ribs and scroll of wood similar to that of theback. The outline has been modified slightly higher, perhaps to shorten the tuning fork (Hill 1931). Red-brown varnish on a golden ground.
