di Amati Nicolò

1660 - Cello

Originally, the instrument was larger and it had been reduced in width. The top is of pine of regular medium grain, with four inserts in the bouts. The back is two-piece of sub-radial cut maple, of narrow but irregular curl. The ribs are of sub-radial cut maple, different from back. The scroll is original.
