Back of two pieces of curly maple on average curl, glued in a herringbone pattern with vertex at the top. Original neck,  amended at the junta with the body and secured with a screw.

  • Dendrochronological analysis of the soundboard performed by prof. Elio Corona (University of Tuscia) in 1990, which led to the most recent ring dating to around 1650. Radiography of the union between the neck and upper block, followed in 1990 by Carmelo Nicotra of PROCOL. Endoscopy performed by Claudio Ferrari, NAMICON. Physical-acoustic, performed by Sergio Cingolani, Galileo Galilei Institute. Holographic interferometry, performed by Luciana Rizzi and Pierino Vo, of the CISE. Gas chromatographic analysis of insect powder extracted from the inside of the instrument, performed at the USL 31 Ferrara.
  • The Commission of Experts appointed by the Conservatory "Benedetto Marcello" in Venice in 1954, composed by the luthiers Giuseppe Adorned, Marino Capicchioni, Carlo De March, LuigiVistoli and four teachers of the conservatory, determined the falsity of the label, and the assignment of the instrument to the Venetian school, perhaps Gobetti.
