Frate Nebridio

1480 - Angels Musicians

The miniature is part of a Antiphonary achieved under the bequest of Betino from Desenzano, canon of the Cathedral, and depicts two musician angels with harp porttive and rebec.

The portative harp has the body flat, the neck at S and the column curled toward the eternal, and shows the pegs which hold the strings on the soundboard.

Of the rebec you see only the soundboard, which seems to have a transverse crease, with the sound hole at rosette. Well defined is also the shape of the bow.
